Euston Restaurant Review

So you have some transit time at Euston Station and you just don't fancy the fast food that is available on the concourse. There are alot of quite reasonable restaurants in about 20 minutes walk of the station. Why not try one of these, most of them I've eaten at more than once and quite a few I am a regular at. The selection is quite diverse, from the Indian Vegetarian of Drummond Street to some real trendy places in Soho.

The Great Nepalese	48 Eversholt St Tel : 0171 388 6737/5935	Nepalese		2	This is a great, friendly restaurant with a diverse clientele, it has been reviewed a couple of times in the Evening Standard, my personnal favourites from the starters are Haku Choyula and Kaleza Ra Chayau. From the mains the King Prawn Jhalfrezi is excellent or the Dumba Curry with a Peshwari Naan. About £20 for a starter, main and a beer or two.
Pasta Plus	62 Eversholt St Tel : 0171 383 4943	Italian		2	A good, friendly restaurant, which has fairly extensive menu and a daily special on the blackboard, the house red is quite good as well, the Spagetti Marinara is one of my favourites but I do go for the specials quite often and haven't been disapointed. Again about £20 for a starter, main and a drink.
El Parador	245 Eversholt St Tel : 0171 387 2789	Spanish		20	If you like Tapas, this is the place, it can get quite busy so it may be worth phoning first, in the summer you can sit outside at the back - which is a bonus. There are three categories of Tapas available meat, fish and vegetable, and to be quite honest I haven't had a bad one yet.

Le Bistro du Village	72 Cleveland St Tel : 0171 637 2154	French/Italian		20	A small restaurant, tucked away offers a good and changing menu, with friendly service, there is usually a couple of set menus on the blackboard, which are mainly French in style, check the menu for the Italian, the steaks are also good. You can get away with a meal and a drink for less than £20, but I often get tempted by the menu items.
Ravi Shankar	133-135 Drummond St Tel : 0171	Indian Vegetarian		2-3/4	My favourite of these Indian Vegetarian restaurants along Drummond St, they all offer amazing value(for London). Ravi's has a light modern style with a good array of dishes and a daily special. The clientel vary from 'suits' to students. My favourite starter is the Aloo-Chana Chat, and as for mains check out the tarka daal. You can get a starter, main courcse and a drink for under £10.
Diwana	XX Drummond St Tel : 0171	Indian Vegetarian		2-1/2	A good plan B when the Ravi Shankar is full. It's not licensed but you can buy drinks at the off-license next door.
Ravi Kebab	XX Drummond St Tel : 0171	Indian Vegetarian		3	I used to love this place and ate there at least once a week, unfortunately I got a pretty nasty case of food poisoning there and haven't been able to bring myself to go there again, anyway it was good while it lasted!
